I am looking to put new tires and chrome wheels on my EOS and was wondering what the stock offset is and how high or low I can go with either 17" or 18" wheels?

Would you guys recommend going up to 18"?

Also what about hubcentric concerns?

Thanks Mike

If you're buying aftermarket wheels not specifically designed for VWs, the vendor should supply appropriate hubcentric rings to go with them if the hub size isn't the same. That way you're certain the wheel is centered properly when you bolt it on. I bought aftermarket wheels for my CRX (humongous 15" :D ) from Tire Rack, and they sent along a nice set of aluminum hubcentric rings.

Another thing to watch out for if you switch to aftermarket wheels is the wheel bolts. Stock VW wheels use bolts with a rounded ball seat. Most aftermarket wheels have conical seats, so you'll need new conical seat bolts if that's the case. You do not want to mix the configurations.

What offset range will work with new rims

I have 15" wheels and currently Azenis 205 50/R15 tires. Thinking about replacing them with the Dunlop Z1 and the only size they make that might fit are the 195 50/R15.

All I know about my wheels is that they are 15" and work with the 205 size tire. Will the 195 50/R15 work with my wheels?
