I am guessing your first guess is correct. When I first saw the car's name I thought of the Canon Eos Camera and was surprised.
I hope you are correct; I'm picking mine up at 10:00Hi All.......
.......PS for those in the UK, tomorrow looks like a day where we can get the top down at last!
Amen! I can honestly say the same thing... Drove it... then told the wife "I can't go back without leaving with the car!"There is really no such thing as an EOS test-drive.
I believe that a "test-drive" of an EOS is more of an owner's "practise run".

hi GOgg, actually the sun god was called helios... eos was the greek goddess of the dawn!!!.. so maybe it is a womans car after all..lol..Hi All,
I was considering the name Eos and how it came to be associated with a car. Due to the Sun God, Eos and the cars lack of roof it seems appropriate but perhaps looking at the parts used it could have been called the "PassGo", since parts come from both the Passat and the Golf.
(Of course it will be in North America due to difference in branding).
Anyone else come up with some other ideas?

Nothing wrong with Jettas or Passats...!Amen! I can honestly say the same thing... Drove it... then told the wife "I can't go back without leaving with the car!"![]()
Oh, and I think consumer reports called the Eos a Passat rear (to handle a large roof in the trunk) and a jetta front. But hey... nobody's complaining. just sharing.

In brief,
Eos ("dawn") was, in Greek mythology, the Titan goddess of the dawn, who rose from her home at the edge of Oceanus, the Ocean that surrounds the world, to herald her brother Helios, the sun.
She was also know to seduce young men !!!
Funny you should say that, I was thinking about looking at the Canon EOS camera just because it bore the same name.Funny, When I use my camera to shoot my car, It's a eos20d shooting the eos2.0t...hmm something to think about![]()
