I've a feelling it's in the rear bumper (fender in US?).
If it was within the HRW elements then the radio wouldn't work when the roof was down under the steel bootlid (or is the bootlid not made of steel?!)
All the antennas for the EOS - AM/FM, GPS etc.. are housed in the boot/trunk lid. The lid itself is a composite material - not steel - so the signals get through OK apparently.
I can confirm that it is in the boot lid. As is the Phone and GPS aerials where appropriate. It is a plastic boot lid so is conducive to an effective cover for the aerials which are required.
I even have a picture of it, but the VW documentation is so secure that when I even try and do a little screenshot of it, it just comes up with a logo and no content!!!
Essentially it looks like some kind of coil and it situated pretty much in the centre of the boot lid!
I am absolutely itching to get my Eos...you cant imagine.... !
Ive learned so much from this forum already so should be well versed in all the little things - aerial a case in point - & all its little nuances.
