Who had their top off today in the UK?

Beautiful day today so for the first time since December the top came off & we had a great run around the South Hams in Devon, stopping off at Salcombe, Kingsbridge, Malborough before returning to Dartmouth. As it is half term down here I thought we might see more open motoring but we only saw one other elderly MGB with their top down all day. Not a single Eos around at all.
Did you have your top off today?

i had the boot full of boxes so not able to put the boot down today but would have liked to :)
Would have done but was out in the camper van today.....
I went out for a drive today for absolutely no reason other than to get some topless motoring. I also used this fair weather to give the seals a jolly good going over with Krytox.

We british are a funny lot. I suppose that's what you get when you don't know what sort of weather is just around the corner.
Tempreture Saturday was 5.5 degree's and wow how exciting :D , my niece thought i was mad :( after a bit she was thoroughly enjoying the ride, grouching at other drivers who were staring at us both with big grins on our faces.
Nice and sunny Sat morning so the roof was down. Heated seats are a wonderful thing !
Had the roof down for the trip home from work on Friday. Was going to today too but had to stop in car park to pick up a crate of beer from a colleague and then had to move quickly as a car behind me so didn't have chance. I did open the sun-roof fully on the move though!
Had the roof down all day today, Heated seats on Stereo up loud... Life is good!!
Had the roof down a couple of times yesterday. From Reading to Epsom and then at about 4pm from Epsom to Maidstone.

Was lovely having the top down with music blaring out with me singing along!
Had my roof off at the weekend though, but didn't use it yesterday...
I cann't stop the wife getting her top off if the sun comes out the saturday ,sunday, the top was of and the roof of the Eos to

Lucky man!
A bit late in replying - but, yes, I had a 120 miles-each-way drive with my son (to do a rally drive day!) and had the lid off both ways on the 21st, then wnet out again on the 22nd.

Seat heaters and wind deflector an excellent combination!

I make it a point of principle to have the lad down at least once every month.

Today (15th March) is clearly a day when I just need to go somewheere...
Sunshine, blue sky, country lanes ... suddenly delivery in mid-May seems a veeeery loooooong time away.
CIB,
Anticipation his 50% of the enjoyment! Here's a taste of what to expect when you get it.
Spent the afternoon giving my Eos a much deserved wash after a hectic weekend. Went up to London on Friday, stayed in my kids flat. Up early on Saturday to drive to Stoneleigh Park for Retro Race & the auction of classic cars (they had an old Beetle Kabriolet for sale which I was interested in but it needed a lot of work so I didn't bid). After the auction it was back to Devon. I overtook another silver Eos on the A46 heading South West. The driver was a blonde female but she had her top up - shame - it was a nice afternoon!
The round trip was about 550 miles, all done with the top off. Got home about 7 pm last night, pleasantly tired.
Stoneleigh Park is a huge area near Coventry. I had never heard of it before but it certainly attracted the crowds this weekend. There was some very desirable machinery there & I spent a lot of time drooling. They also had a 1 owner Mk1 Golf Kabriolet there in white with additional body kit - looked very smart. Apparently it was featured in Howard's Way (A BBC soap from the early 80s for those too young to have heard of it). It paled into insignificance when compared with the Ferraris, E Types, Cobras, etc. Didn't stay to find out how much it went for.
Its very easy to put the miles on the Eos, CIB, so be warned! They are very enjoyable miles, though. I've now done 4000 miles in just 3 months ownership, purely for pleasure (I don't work - I'm retired). So anticipate & enjoy - it IS half the fun!

Hi John_F - Thank you for that ... I agree really - I am loving the anticipation! BUT on a day like today I couldn't help but be wistful! So to compensate, I bored my friends who came to tea, showing them pictures and talking about the Eos and its charms. Fortunately two of them are car freaks so that was okay.
My first car, a thousand years ago, was a very old Beetle, which I eventually sold so that my then boyfriend and I could hitch around Europe. The car auction sounds exciting - I'd really like one of those old Mercedes Sports cars from the 60s/70s. I've only ever been to one auction but that was for tractors!!!
My Eos will also not have many extras - and now I think I should get the wind deflector. By the way, I was told today that having a convertible makes you drive faster (OH dear)

CIB,
I think the VW price for a wind deflector is about £212.00 but someone on this site was advertising an unused one quite recently for £150.00. I find that they are a worthwhile extra & leave mine up all the time (unless I've got a 3rd passenger). The front one above the windscreen (which is standard) also works well but does tend to catch the flies!
I'll be quite envious when you take delivery of your Eos in May, knowing that mine will be 5 months old with probably at least 6000 miles on the clock. This week I'm planning a trip to Falmouth so that will be another 250 miles. The weather forecast looks set fair so should all be "top off" motoring.
Hope I'm not making you any more wistful - you're time will come!

I find if you have the front one up when the roof is down it actually makes it draughtier.

It's really there to stop the draught when the sunroof is open not for when the roof is off.

Do you not find the same thing?

No, my boyfriend is 6'3" and he says it makes a noticeable difference to the wind (although his head sticks up so far it doesn't stop the wind entirely!) :D
Roof down all day yesterday, temp 12-14°C, driving along country lanes. Brilliant.
