I have had Canon Eos's (35mm and digitals) for longer than I can remember.
So why did VW decide to use such a well known brand name?

I know that, but why did VW re-use such a strong brand name. Canon Eos has a higher profile than VW Eos.

An Eos by any other name would still be...

So why did VW decide to use such a well known brand name?
Canon Eos doesn't mean a thing to me. However, a "Twilight Zone" thing happened to me the day after I got my new Eos this past November. We had some friends come over for dinner later that day and I had NOT told them or for that matter anyone that I bought an Eos that day.

The friends show up for dinner and present us with a bottle of wine as their share of the dinner. The wine was Eos! I kid you not. I almost fell over when I saw it. So I took them out to the garage to show them the new car and we all had a BIG laugh about the strange coincident.

And the Eos wine was very NICE.

If you google "eos", you will find several items with the name including an airline, a stock symbol, a camera, a restaurant and several other items include a VW vehicle.

For those of you who might want to try the Eos wine, you can research it at the following website...

About a year ago several California Eos owners on another forum had tried to do a get together with that as one of the stops. Don't know if it happened though.
