I didn't bother to order a wind deflector when the car was new in Feb as I decided to wait for the summer. List price was £250 but when I rang the dealer to order one I was told it would be £450 as not ordered at the time it was new! Anybody know how I can get one for sensible money?? Thanks

Yes try Ebay carolina has the genuine VW part for £190 delivered to your door complete with bag. Got one myself its well worth it !
I saw that, I was looking myself as i've done the same. It's great to get a recommendation. I'm going to buy one now!!

I couldn't believe how much vw want to charge when it's not an actual factory fitting.

VW seem to have a great ability to think small and in the process shoot themselves in the foot. Here in Canada, deflector is $350 with purchase of car, and $700 afterwards! Problem is if car did not come with deflector in first place you are forced to pay higher price. Dumb, dumb, dumb. All they do is invite other competitors!

For a bit of bent alloy, some glassfibre and some netting...
Easy money if you can get mugs to pay.

Hey, you're not paying for matierals - you're paying for legendary German engineering. Have you see the way this thing folds? I'm in awe on this side of the pond.

Sealy .... that is BS! I admit it is a handy device, but no way should it cost what VW charges, expecially when they double the price if it isn't with the original price. I requested one when I bought the car, but it was not with the car. Then 4 weeks later, I asked for it again, VW doubled the price. In the end. dealer gave it to me BELOW his cost, but still much higher than intial price. Dealer made a friend forever, but VW lost me!

Sealy ....
Two words reference my post, Fred - - - tongue-in-cheek and totally sarcastic. OEM parts are highway robbery. My Sealy ate a $2.00 piece of trim in my Mazda and it cost $55 bucks to get it replaced from a discount dealer in TX. The only option I would have had would have been to "retrieve" the pieces and try to reassemble it.

I got my for "free" because the car had scratches all over the bonnet when I picked it up - it is now being repaired at my cost - along with the scratch I put in the boot lid- mainly because I do not trust the dealer to do it properly. The tyres had 55psi in them - not a good start I thought.
