G/Day to you
My wife purchased a Eos 2.0 T Indvidule W/ dsg box, and received it back in Sept 07, a car which she is thrilled with, apart from the much documented "Roof Rattles". Just one question if I may to the forum, she also purchase the optional Windbreak, in the owners manual it clearly states when not in use must be stored in the bag supplied, she received no bag, called the dealer, no help there, went on the Australian VW site and emailed them twice via there contact page no reply........just wish there customer service was as good as the car....so dose anyone know if there should have been a bag, or do(can) you purchase them separatley.....best Rgs Alan

Came with mine

I don't know about purchasing one separate, but my wind deflector was a dealer add-on and came in the bag.

Screen and bag came with our Eos. Have you checked your owner's manual package for any phone numbers you can call?

Mine is in a bag too... They must have lost the bag or something... I used it for the first time yesterday as a matter of fact, it really does make a difference...
Well, you could use it (the bag) to put your dirty clothes in when traveling. :D Keeps them from stinking up the cleanies.

Oh. :D
Well I also got the windscreen with the bag but to me the bag is useful to keep the windscreen tissue safe. If you leave it in the trunk without protection you could damage it

I keep mine in its bag when it's not in use but just a word of warning: I put a heavy bag on top of it without thinking and it broke the bottom bar clean in two. Because it's made of some kind of nylon nothing would stick it back together. I had to get a replacement.

Because we have no kids, or use the wife's car if we take friends out, I leave the windbreak in permanently anyway.

Windbreak Bag

May I pose the question I asked earlier regarding the "Windbreak Bag" to just the Australian members of the forum, as I have been advised that here in Australia (to quote Solitare Adelaide) a bag is not supplied along with the Windbreak, so did any one in Oz recieve one ?

I purchased mine in Oct 07 and my windbreaker came in a black fake leather looking zip up bag, the bag also has folding instructions for the windbreaker with it, Im sure its standard that it you buy the windbreaker you get the bag.
What state are you in? Im in Vic and have found the service at Camberwell VW to be outstanding, they've been really helpful, even threw in a bottle of Krytox for me, I didnt even buy my Eos through them, just getting it serviced there! Perhaps call them if they're near by, they might look into it for you if your dealer isnt helping.

Thks. for replies (gounta) We are in Adelaide so Camberwell is out of the question Im afraid, emailed the sales manager of the dealership here in SA, and awaiting for his response now I know other Australian Eos owners recieved a bag....look I understand its a small thing but on a $68K car you would like to think it came with one (they (vw) thought of everything eles)....

As for service have'nt taken it to dealers as yet to sort out the rattles and leaks, but unlike you if I can't get a bag out of them theres not much chance of receiving any free Krytox to stop the rattles......

But hey what a great car al the same !!!

Windbreak Bag

This is the reply I recieved from dealer regarding the Missing Bag, a result @ long last.....................the key ring ref. @ the end refers to the fact that when the car was delivered my wife was promised a fancy dealer keyring, but we are out of stock @ present....no worries I"ll send you one....that was 8 mths ago!!!!! all small stuff I know .......as with the bag issue..... but annoying.

"Good afternoon
Thank you for your email.
Re the leaks etc. I do apologize for the inconvenience and please allow service to rectify the problem for you.
With reference to the cover for the windbreak, I contacted Volkswagen's premium brand technical officer who advised that in fact the bag should be supplied with the windbreak.
On several occasions vehicles have arrived with out the bag. I am not sure where the problem originates but I have brought it to the attention of Volkswagen Australia and my predelivery dept.
To add to the situation the bag is offered on our price structure from Volkswagen as a separate part valued at $125.
I thank you for bringing this to my attention.
I have spoken to Stuart and we will have a bag and key ring sent to you next week.
Once again thank you and my apologies.
Kind regards
