Louie, welcome to the site.

If I understand this, you are rolling the window up, then once it is up it immediately goes back down 1/2 way?

First I've heard of this (then again the car is brand spanking new). Your warranty should cover this, I would recommend dropping it by the dealer to have them take a look.

Aside from the window, how do you like the new car?

I collected my EOS in October. For the first three weeks approx once a week as I shut the door the driver's window dropped half way. I mentioned it to the dealer, they took it in for a day, it didn't do it. They took it in for a week at the beginning of December, again it didn't do it. They tell me they've run all sorts of diagnostics on the window but there is no sign of anything wrong. All they've said is if it happens again I must bring it back immediately. Fortunately, so far since then it's not dropped. Good luck anyway....
I had trouble with my Golf before I got my EOS. Its funny they run these diagnostic checks and never find a thing. They wont change more than 1 part, if they aren't sure because they say VW wont pay under the warranty scheme if there is nothing wrong
I wonder what kind of diagnostocs you can perform on a window!?!

Most likely the dealer had opened and closed the door a few times and it hasn't happened.

Stick to your guns if it happens again, thell em you want whatever parts control the window replaced.

This is unacceptable service when you have paid in excess of 20k for a car.

Just because it didn't happen when they tested it..........does that mean you were hallucinating lol?
They say there is computer memory so if you plug computer in once the electric window has played up and you haven't switched the engine off or ignition. Apparently it is suppose to pin point fault. I broke down 5 times in my GOLF 1.6 FSI Sport (petrol). I had VW assistance come out when I had my golf and they still said was same fault. The EGR valve which they had changed 3 times. When I got so fed up the keep breaking down, I part ex'd it back and it was only 13 months old. They stripped down the engine when they owned it, and reckon they found the fault to be the cat converter breaking up...Only had 8000 miles on clock.

Don't let them thob you off is all I can say...

I got a good deal backing the car back to them and going for the diesel EOS..
They had the car back in May and I had to wait until Sept for my new car...But touch wood my car is ok.

Yes, only with mine it was the passenger door window.

According to the dealer the seals were a bit sticky so when the window goes up it thinks there's an obstacle and the safety auto-lower kicks in and drops it half way down. Dealer cured it simply by lubricating the seals; it hasn't happened again.

Probably relates to the obstruction sensing - when the system thinks it has something trapped in the window it drops the window. Can be caused by dirt in the runners, system not knowing when the window is closed (i.e. it tries to close it 5mm too far) etc.

The EOS replaced an A2 (written of by a careful lady driver!) and many A2 owners had similar problems.
Handy to know!!

I'll be washing my car later today so will give the seals a going over too!!

While on this site do a search on "Krytox" to learn more about the special lubricants required for the special CSC roof seals.

See your owners manual for information on the correct lubricant for window seals and other weatherstripping.

i just got mine today and i noticed that problem.
as soon as the passenger door closes it rolls down about 10 cm but not always, it has only happened twice.
i hope its what neh says, i have not spoken to the dealership yet.

has anyone noticed the timing sequence of the windows when they go up or down ?
i dont know if this has anything to do with it but on my car when i push the button for all the windows to go down the 1st window to go down is the drivers then the rear windows (together at the same time) then the passengers window that has the problem and the same order when they go up again.

i went to the dealership today and all they said was that if they cant see the problem they cant fix it because mine doesnt always do it.
its not as if i had nothing better to do today and wanted to spend my day there...........

i am going to try to pin point when it does it if its possible then go back but even if i cant pin point it.... i will go back and wont leave unless i get an explanation...........

Strange... I think all the times I used the "all windows" button they all went down at the same time.

Keep us posted. Hope it doesn't become problematic.
amazing.... all i had to do is re align the window by taking it down all the way and then up again and hold the button up for 5 sec and the same on the way down and it was just fine .
hasn't done it ever since. :)
I had the same problem, happened during a snow storm. Took it to dealer and he made minor adjustment to seating of the windows when hey were closed, which prevented them from coming back down. No problems since.
