Hello,

I recentley had a small scratch on the windscreen which I tried to rub out with metal polish, this resulted in a misty patch on the screen. Any Ideas how to get the screen clear again?

Many Thanks

Metal polish is generally a really fine abrasive - hence the misty patch, I would seek advice from someone who works with windscreens as how best to remove it. It will probably need to be polished with the stuff they use to finish off repairing a stone chip. Good luck with that one.

You may have to go to an automotive glass shop to fix the damage, unless you can find suitable glass polishing compound at an auto parts store.

In the future, you can try to fix small cracks, chips, etc. with kits found at parts stores. They have a clear resin to apply to the void, then polish. It's not really a structural repair, so you can't use it to fix a big crack which would require windshield replacement.
