I took my car in for a new leather seat, as the dealer ripped mine when mending the cruise control.
I've now had the use of various other cars whilst owning the EOS, and I just had use of a Golf TDI GT sport whilst they were mending the above.
I've realised just how much I LOVE my car.
Had it over a year now and still can't think of anything I'd trade it in for. Need a hard top, need 4 seats, need it to shift when then gas pedal is pressed:D, and definately need it to be convertible.
Not thinking of swapping it, just realising that it ticks all the boxes for me.
Never had a car before that I didn't consider changing within a year, well done VW.

Thats great to hear Swordfish. I'm still awaiting mine, due in at Grimsby end of October they keep telling me !!!!! Just hope to God it's as good as everybody on the site keeps saying. What you got spec wise ? Am looking forward to an EOS meet nearer than the first one which SJ organised at Watford. Expect to see you there as your in the vicinity.

Skidoo, I was like you and thought that I was building my hopes to high on the Eos front, how could so many people like a car that much, it was going to be an anti climax when I eventually got it, I just knew. Well it's not. it's a fun fantastic feel good car that you just want to drive all the time, and I mean all the time. I can not think of any other car that I would prefer over my Eos.

Denny ... are you getting tired of your EOS and getting ready to trade? Another month or so and I'll be changing the tires and cutting down on my mileage. Snow gets pretty heavy here and 4WD is a must on many days!

Never! I just wait until the snow plows have been through, then take it out! Then I plead with my wife to use her Passat 4WD on really bad days and leave her at home! Doesn't always work tho!

My only regret is that I didn't get the turbo! Whilst the normally aspirated two litre is still a good drive, that extra pull would be very nice to have!

Don't think I'll ever fall for another car quite like I have for this one, and I'm actually looking forward to three years time to see what VW do to 'upgrade' the car - never know, next car could be a Mk II Eos...

I found this thread very interesting. With interest rates creeping up still and money being tight I was considering trading in my EOS for something that would be cheaper. I also have the fear that putting 100 miles minimum a day on my car so it will be a high mileage model. I considered the 2.0 TDI Sport Golf thinking it wouldn't be that different but now I'm not so sure.
The other thing is that I've been hit from flying debre twice this week and last week I was a passenger in my Dad's car and something crashed into the barrier on the motorway and we were hit the window smashed and we were covered in glass, I cant help thinking what if I'd have been in my car with the roof off!

My insurance is up for renewal and the quotes I have had are £100 more than last year - primarily because my first Eos rolled into another car (with the handbrake on, but not in gear, therefore my fault).

So does anyone have any comments on this post?

I don't generally have the roof down on the motorway as too windy for the kids in the back:D Also it does feel a bit exposed at those speeds, but other than that I don't have any worries.

My insurance renewal is November so we'll see what happens. I've had a claim but not my fault so hoping they've got that sorted by then.

Well Joolz,

In my experience, once you have purchased a new car the die is cast! To consider trading in the first couple of years subjects you to very high depreciation expenses. It is only after year three and on that the depreciation settles down. So, even if your insurance goes up another 100 pounds, it is a mere pittance compared to the depreciation penalty in the first year or so. Plus the fact, your insurance is likely to go up with any new car if your personal claims experience is your fault. So .... unless you really want another car and hate the car you are driving now, I'd be hanging in there!

If it's VWs you like then there is a new Scirocco coming out next year in both closed and open form, which will be priced in between the Golf and Eos.

It will still have Eos's interior and Golf's engines but at a lower price.

Think the open one is also going to have a hardtop but not sure. Don't know why VW need this model as well as the Eos but it looks very nice indeed.

I wish we had variability in models and engine types here in the US like you guys do over there. It's amazing of the options you get to not only chose in the trim you are interested in, but also the models available. Half of the vehicles VW offers in your region aren't ever going to be available here. I really wanted the TDI, but they reserved them for the Jetta and Golf here in the states.

Joe .... right now there are NO diesels in North America until VW revamps the TDI engine to meet the revised emission standards. Understand that is underway now, and will be introduced in Golf and Jetta next year sometime. Who knows, EOS could follow?

P.S. Three dogs in this family (Springer, German Shorthair, Standard Poodle) but not in my EOS!

Personally I would keep the car.... I agree 100% with SHF... Once you trade it in and get something else and all the hassle, you will still probably end up worse off... Plus it is an EOS!!!! My vote is to keep the car! If the economy is causing issues, don't vote for Labour at the next election!
