Hi all! I'm brand new to this site and need some advice... I'm seriously thinking about purchasing an eos over here in sunny England and been busy studying reviews.. Iv come to the conclusion that the problem with reviews are most of the time the only people who write on them are people blowing off steam! So it would be nice to hear all of your opinions on the car. I would like a 2.0 fsi, I'd be happy with the non sport model for comfort.. Are these cars smooth? Suspension wise? And also has the lubing of seals sorted ALL the problems with leaky roofs? Looks like it's caused mayhem for owners and it's such a simple solution!!!! LOL... Did they also change the style of seal on the later model, as il prob be buying a used 06!! Feel free to say what your views are on the car. All opinions are welcome!
Regards,
Dave

Hey there

:D Let me say I have had my eis blue Eos for two years now and love it. You should see how many people look at her and me...hehehe. I have had a few issues but nothing detrimental. You will own one of the most unique and well designed cars in the world. Most reviews are amazing albeit American reviews are evidently envious. Here in beautiful Vancouver, Canada there are still so few that I still feel privileged. Such a cool and reliable car...love it.

DSG, 18" wheels, all the fixings and the most beautiful blue in the world. Well done VW. John
great car

All i can say about this car is it's fun to drive. My wife wanted to get a car for work , she travels around the state. We purchased a 2007 v6 in march of 2008 , it had 600 miles on it. Now it;s at 12,000 and no problems . It;s my first non american car and all I can say is why did I wait for so long .Very impressed with the quality and features. For a small car It drives large.I would tell anyone to get one. Krytox the seals and do the maintence you will be fine.:)
I purchased a used 2007 Eos in February 2008. Thus I'm at the 1 year mark now. The car has been an absolute dream. No problems, no issues with the dealer, it has been an excellent experience. Next time I'm in the market for a new car I will absolutely consider another VW product based upon the quality and features of this car.
Love mine!

My baby is one year old in March - just one return visit to the dealer to lubricate the roof mechanism and eradicate the ugly graunch as the roof opened and closed. There is a touch of corrosion starting on the Westwoods, which I will mention at the service, otherwise I am a very satisfied customer indeed - it is a classy, solid, stylish and economical car. It hauls a trailer full of building stuff with the greatest of ease, and always feels like it has oooomph in reserve. I would replace it with another, no question:)

A few of us have had corrosion issues on the Westwoods.
My whole set was replaced under warranty last year!
So far the new ones are still immaculate.

Thanks neh321, I shall definitely have a word with the dealer. Rather than affecting the whole rim, it is a series of small patches, which appear to be spreading. I thought it might be just the harsh winter and roadsalt, but the 'Tiggy's' alloys haven't been affected at all.

OK, I give up. What's a Westwood? I've got a USA model and don't know where to look to check for corrosion on my "westwoods"? If there's a WHOLE set of them, they must be all over the car.

A style of wheel, perhaps not on the states side models

That's how the corrosion starts then it can spread round the whole rim and on to the spokes and the centre. It's like a cancer.
