Anyone in Victoria want a VW ski bag?

On the off chance I ever go skiing, I doubt I’d be driving my Eos up the mountains. I love this car, but I’ve never driven a worse vehicle in snow. Yet it did for some reason come with a ski bag that fits in between the seats into the trunk.

I wish they’d made something similar for a surf board as that’s more my style and I’m bummed I can’t figure out a way to transport a surf board.

First time I've seen one. I thought the ski hole was for my DIY store visits when I put in long pipe and timber. :)

Yes, the EOS isn't brilliant in snow, but better with snow tires, a sack of sand in the trunk, and a collapsible shovel to dig yourself out. No, you can't fit roof carrier bars for skis, surfboard, or a box.

Yes, it’s surprising they took such a summer vehicle and thought “let’s fit it for ski’s!” 🤪

we only get a few days of snow a couple times a year, so I couldn’t bring myself to forking out the over $2000 I was quoted for winters. I’ll take the bus a few days if needed.

I wish it was possible to fold down the seats to make space for a surfboard etc., but the only solution I’ve found is tieing it down somehow if the roof is down.

Unfortunately the seat 'back' with ski opening is structuraly part of the car. Cabriolets need a different body design & construction approach to keep the body stiff and also strong for rear impact. If you have the EOS Sport version the ground clearance is low, otherwise their might be an option to secure it under the body? Otherwise, on some kind of support possibly along the side from the mirror back if you can avoid using the front passenger door for entry? I've never surfed, but boards aren't that heavy?

Securing it to the bottom is an interesting thought. I might give that a try with an inexpensive board. That’s good to know on why the seats don’t move, makes me a little less annoyed with it.

Victoria - State in Australia named for the British monarch Queen Victoria by the British invaders occupying the country at the time.

There has never been a treaty between the original Indigenous occupants of the continent for over 40,000 years and the British invaders after 1770 in relation to their occupation of the land known as Terra Australis [the Great South Land].

"Terra Australis Incognita" Latin for "Unknown South Land," was a hypothetical continent long believed to exist in the southern hemisphere by Europeans to balance the landmasses of the Northern Hemisphere, a concept dating back to ancient Greece and Rome. Explorers and cartographers hypothesized its existence for centuries, with early modern maps depicting it as a vast, unknown southern land. For many centuries Europeans believed there must be a vast land in the southern hemisphere, variously called ‘Terra Australis Incognita’ from the Latin for ‘Unknown South Land’.

The search for this land led to the discovery of Australia by European navigators in the 1600's and eventually to the naming of the modern continent "Australia" in 1804 by British explorer Matthew Flinders.

Yes you could open the top or stick it out of the open sunroof, until it rains. IMHO if I was young and sporty I'd buy an SUV or Estate with space, which I could keep when partners and kids arrive. The EOS is fun but not the best practical car.

I can imagine and the EOS wouldn't be my first choice for a low cost of ownership reliable vehicle. When they work they are great cars, but if you have to pay somebody for repairs, eating would be my priority.
