Boot won't unlock

The trunk lock in the upper part of the trunk lid and the pull down motor are two separate operations. The pulldown motor is controlled through the roof controller module (for roof ops) but also gets signals from other parts of the system. Your problem seems entirely related to the upper trunk lid lock? The lock itself is internally sprung to always close and mechanically latches to close over the pull down roller. It only requires momentary power to release and whilst lock release and pull up/pull down (the whirr noise) come at the same time, it's electronic control that's doing it together. The upper trunk lock is powered momentarily by the convenience module and wiring to the lock goes straight there and not through any connectors on the roof control module. This unit sits behind the glove box where its connectors are accessible after removing the glove box. Have a look at one of my 'get out of jail' mods where I added a remote switch to electrically open the trunk lock.

You should be able to measure momentary +12V on the lock drive pin of the connector when the boot is unlocked. If you see that signal and the lock motor doesn't unlock then either you have a problem with the wire which goes straight to the lock, its ground wire or the lock motor itself. I had a look at your scan and apart from some issue to follow up there was nothing specific about the trunk lid lock. That suggests the conveniemce module may not be faulty and the lock drive voltage is coming out. Wiring from parts in the trunk lid comes down the hinge which flexes with opening and closing. Another angle to look at is a break in the wire, assuming the motor is o.k.

In my post I explain that you can momentarily apply +12V to this wire and the motor should operate although whilst it is still connected back to the convenience module, it's probably safer to measure (the lock motor) resistance. If there is non the wires to the lock are bad or the motor is dead. If there is no +12V on that wire when the lock is operated the fault is in the convenience module or the lock switches themselves. All EOS door switches are vulnerable to water pouring on them. If no voltage is leaving the convenience module, try disconnecting the plugs connecting the switches then try to unlock with the remote fob. If the lid lock now works the problem could be a stuck or water damaged switch.

Seeing the mess water has made of your roof controller, you should take some time to read through my post attachment on condensation mods. This includes my explanation of where the water comes from to cause damage to the roof controller. If you do nothing, the same problem will come back. Worst case the pins and connections you cleaned up may corrode away and you could have a lifetime of intermittent roof sensor fault problems to find and fix.

WARNING: Until you are sure the trunk lid lock and its pull down work, and the roof has no errors when scanned, do not operate the roof. There is a big risk of a roof operation stalling mid cycle and you could be locked out of the trunk which you will then need open to fix the roof fault!
