CD Changer Unit Removal

How easy is it to remove the cd changer unit from the centre console. I have been offered an ipod unit that im told will plug straight into the existing cable. Also if anyone has this unit, does it charge your ipod and is there any kind of display on the car unit. Any help much appreciated

It's very easy to remove.

You'll need a plastic knife or a palette knife to take off the plastic bezel. I generally tend to start in the bottom right hand corner and gently ease it out from the clips behind.

After that, there are 4 (I think!) screws which you'll need a Star chaped screw head for.

Thanks. I will give it a go then. Just need to find a plastic knife! Presumably the star screws are torx? (if that's how you spell it)
