EOS comfortline - controlling windows from the remote

I've just purchased an EOS 1.4 TSI 160hp comfortline.
It is really a satisfying car. I'm very glad that I've got it.
But it lacks some very basic features. My previous car was a Peugeot 307 and had lots of comfort features.
My new EOS 's windows can not be closed from the remote controller.
If I leave the windows open, I have to close them by entering the key in the door lock and holding it for some seconds.

I wonder if this feature can be added to the remote controller.
Because my friend has a Scirocco and he has the same remote controller. He's able to close the doors from remote controller.

This very basic feature should be available through remote controller.
In fact, I would expect to be able to close the roof or sunroof from remote controller as well.
Any ideas ?

No, not VW, its an aftermarket mod. Requires a bit of effort to fit, part of the boot lining has to be removed. There is a pictorial guide available for download on the manufacturers website. Have a look and see what you think. Looking at posts on this forum seems like most are very happy with module. There are lots of programmable features, programmable via dash display if you have highline MFD option.

I've checked it on the manufacturers web site. it seems nice. possible to use.
But I am worried about the warranty of the car. is that disturbed by installing this ?

What is an highline MFD option ? My car is comfortline but I have programmable display menu in the dash.

There is a possibility that VW might not honour the warranty, but it would have to be proved that your mod was at fault. As with all items like this they must be used with a bit of common sense.

As the comfortline is not a uk model I guess you dont live here. The MFD is Multi Function Display - it is the enhanced interface that allows access to functions using the dash display.

I enabled remote window close/open and sunroof close using VAG-COM software and the accompanying Micro-CAN cable from Ross-Tech: http://www.ross-tech.com/ Being able to open the windows remotely sure is nice, especially on a hot day when you can roll them down from across the parking lot.

You may not want to go the expense of getting the Ross-Tech setup like I did (250USD, the cost in your country may vary). I enjoy working on our cars and this is another great tool to have. Key thing is that since VAG-COM basically duplicates the diagnostic equipment available at the VW dealer, I would think you'd be able to get a dealer to enable remote window and sunroof close operation for you at a reasonable cost.

You will not be able to open the sunroof or lower/raise the top via VAG-COM or VW tweaks to the car, for that you would need the aforementioned Smart Top module.

I would also suggest you to have a Smarttop module. It works great. I love it. It has more features then your expectations for remote closing and opening the window.

For the warranty just remove it before taking the car to the service to be on the safe side;) It won't be recognized

I've got one too and have been happy with it.

Some of its features already exist, but must be activated with VAGCOM or by a dealer - no doubt some are being saved by VW for future model upgrades.

Some - such as being able to open the roof on the move (an option I don't use), VW would not offer due to the warranty risks - that roof is an expensive piece of kit.
